Communications Officer Kelly Hollowood spearheads efforts to connect SEIU 925 chapters with Public Employee Relations Commission
For Labor Day weekend our officers are taking time to celebrate the efforts of the labor movement, that have brought us such great advances as the weekend/40 hour work week, minimum wage, OSHA, and much more, by reaching out to our state labor commission. The Public Employee Relations Commission or PERC is the Washington State agency with jurisdiction over public sector employee labor relations and bargaining. This regulatory agency is responsible for enforcing out collective bargaining laws and covers nearly half a million organized public sector employees across the state.
They are also a great resource for training opportunities for organized labor, leaders and members alike have access to their online resources and are eligible to attend training courses on a variate of labor and organizing topics. Kelly has been in contact with PERC and is in the process of collecting interested members to coordinate online group training sessions. If you are interested in building your skills and helping to build our union, then please take some time to checkout their training offerings and submit your interest to our email (kcparksseiu925@gmail.com)
